Susan Bein Rosman was born in Philadelphia
and received her B.S. and M.A. degrees from Temple University.
Her studies have included Brentwood Art Center with Sally
Lamb and workshops with Ilana Bloch, Gerald Brommer, Virginia
Cobb and Franklyn Liegel. She works in watercolor and mixed
media, using collage to integrate intricate patterns.
Susan’s goal is to use the transparency and clarity
of watercolor to portray the delicacy of nature. She enjoys
painting floral and still life subjects that offer the opportunity
to use intense color. Her subjects frequently appear within
a grid format and the addition of calligraphy contributes to
an oriental feeling. Unusual shaped papers are often used,
leading her to experiment in non-traditional formats and assisting
in altering spatial concepts.
